Chisholm Trail--Blazing a Trail Through Learning!

Chisholm Trail, located in Park City, Kansas, serves nearly 400 students from Pre-K-5th grade, as a neighborhood school in the Wichita Public Schools. Our neighborhood includes much of the northern border of the Wichita School district, bordering the Maize, Valley Center, and Circle school districts. Most of our students live in Park City, Kechi, and the surrounding area.

Chisholm Trail offers a small-town atmosphere while still being a part of the largest school district in the state. Chisholm Trail is strongly supported by the Park City community and the Park City Pride group. Chisholm Trail gives back to the Park City Community through public service projects.

At Chisholm Trail, our safe learning environment is framed in the belief that our students will develop into responsible, respectful citizens. We have a school-wide discipline plan that defines expected behavior and rewards students for positive choices. Our guidelines for success are focused on the Five Rs of Respect:

  • Respect yourself.
  • Respect your teachers.
  • Respect your fellow students.
  • Respect your school.
  • Respect your community

Chisholm Trail offers services for students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, including all-day kindergarten, special education services for students with learning needs, as well as a Mixed Abilities program to meet the needs of students with specialized needs. Our school also participates in the Ron Clark Academy House System where students are sorted into 4 houses. Students can earn points for their house by exemplifying proper behavior and promoting an inclusive atmosphere.

We are very proud of our parental involvement at Chisholm Trail. A strong Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Site Council support the mission of the school through, fundraising, event planning, and teacher support. We have a strong sense of community which enhances our partnership with parents and benefits all of our students.

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and events, including Red Ribbon Week spirit days, Kindness Week spirit days, House Battle Days, grade-level music concerts, State Assessment pep rally, Walk and Roll to School, Staff vs. 5th Grade Kickball Game, and Field Day. We also host evening events throughout the year where families and students can participate in fun events such as Trunk or Treat, Resource Fair, and a school-wide carnival. These evenings offer families the opportunity to become active participants in their child(ren)'s learning. Chisholm Trail invites you to join us at any of these events to help celebrate your child's learning and be an important part of their success!
